What are /g/s thoughts on 21:9?
I'm conflicted. Part of me likes the novelty and the other part things it'll wear off if I ever got on and I'll just be part of a meme

Bump for interest
Been looking at 2560*1440 or 4K as main and a 1080p in portrait
Anyone using a 21:9 3440*1440 instead of a dual monitor setup?
>buy 40" 4k
>two 21:9 for the price of one
ditched my dual setup of p2715q (4K IPS), 34um95 (non curved 60hz 1440p), dual qx2710 (100hz PLS 1440p) and a bunch of shit tier TN 4k korean monitors until i got my M340CLZ (21:9 1440 @ 100hz VA) that came without dead/stuck pixels.
Pretty much a sweetspot between pixel density, curvature and refresh rate. First monitor i consider using more than a year.

You have people who want 4K, you have people who want 144hz and you have people who want a 21:9 screen.
I own one, it's very nice. It's basically 1/4th more expensive than a average 16:9 Full HD IPS monitor. I think I have a 22 Inch or so IPS Ultrawide monitor and I wished I had stepped up a slight bit on the size though, otherwise they're useful for multitasking and great at playing games with the support for it.
Did you know that OpenRCT2 supports this resolution perfectly?
I'm considering buying a LG 34UM88C-P but IDK. I can get a 43" 4k Dell P4317Q for 100 more..
for gaming? 21:9 is absolutely stunning.
BUT. when it comes to fps like csgo, ur fucked.
Editing? really good, esp on the timeline u have more space to work on.
general browsing?very comfy except.. well utube/video player doesnt support ultrawide but u can fix that with extension/add-on.
i paid mine less than the retail price, so for me yes its worth it.

I pretty much got used to black bars on youtube, in some cases I just keep it on cinema mode as the screen itself is huge, this way I can multitask and watch a vid smoothly.
I got an open boxed LG 29UM58 for 175$ and it's OK. Some games don't support it but I'm not going to find anything better at that price

Full of bugs it seems, http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/SLN303346/troubleshooting-the-dell-43-inch-multi-client-monitor---p4317q?lang=EN#Image_truncation_on_edge_of_screen
I have the 25UM55, possibly the lowest end 21:9 monitor there is, it's still pretty decent. Problem is, I watch a lot of TV shows and those are mostly 16:9. Also movies.
I have the LG 34UM67-P 34-Inch, along with a normal 16:9 1440p monitor. I like both of them.
