You can get a programming job without living in a meme city like San Francisco or Seattle.

It depends on where you live, like a lot. Arizona and California are right next to each other, but they have a huge difference in cost of living. $100k is a ton of money in like Phoenix, but it's barely above average in like San Francisco.

OP, the goal is to work my way up in the bay area and then move somewhere cheaper once I have done all my career climbing. I'm about 2 years from moving (IT infrastructure engineer)
