Given the skill level approximated by the statement, "I've built a computer before," how long should self-study take to get A+ certified, and more importantly, will it get me a job?

>I've built a computer before
Wew. Literally connect things that fit together. A+ certification is useless and it will not get you a job.
>>59926195
A+ certification by its self is worthless.
It is a primer on other comptia certifications though so you should take it to get certified. And see if you want to take at minimum 4 other comptia certifications.
bout tree fiddy
>how long
basically as fast as you can read a book, you already have 99% of the knowledge
>will it get me a job
A+ can get you a minimum wage helpdesk position job
but it probably won't

I'd rather be truthful and get real advice.
>>59926407
What's the track that's most likely to get me employed at a livable wage?

>skill level approximated by the statement, "I've built a computer before,"
>skill level
lol

It got the job done.
Anything else, guys? I could waste my time googling, get the same piss-poor advice that everyone else does, but I figure a lot of you guys work in IT and would be able to be more helpful. I'm not super-desperate but I'd really appreciate it.

>will it get me a job
Maybe a shitty job working at Fry's
Just learn to code.

>"I've built a computer before,"
thats something even a monkey can do, literally.

This is definitely an observation that we all needed brought to our attention. Reading it was definitely not a waste of my time.

A+ is useless, when I was in uni I worked as a supervisor at geek squad and didn't give a shit if people had it when I was hiring.
Get a real cert like CCNA if you want to do IT in a company, or get a bachelor's in comp science if you can afford real university.

unless you are clueless and don't have a computer readily available, PASS ON A+. It's fucking dense with shit you already know, and i mean dense. If you have common sense and some experience just apply for a helpdesk job and get that under your belt or move onto better certificates.
Also, A+ is like two parts and fucking expensive.
