The internet should have most of the UI removed and be made very difficult to use so that normies can't use it and only intellectually intelligent people can use it
fuck back off to the IRC circlejerk, neo-luddite
pseudo-intellectual:
complains about normies
intellectual:
makes money off normies
>>59921953
>neo-luddite
how about you stop browsing 1.0 websites and fuck off to tumblr?
>>59921998
This idiot is clearly the pseudo intellectual isn't he notice how pathetic his noun choice is.
>>59922069
He is, but he also have a point, we should not be using the internet for this kind of bullshit (shitposting). Internet should have stayed an academic/military tool.
>>59922171
Hmm interesting point but a i could've said it much better
>>59922699
>t. web """"""""designer"""""""""
>>59921937
JavaScript was a mistake
>>59922761
Computers were a mistake. We'd be better off if everyone used smartphones and apps
>>59921937
intellectuals will gtfo because they have better things to do than deal with the masdive pants on head retarded inconvenience your idea would bring
nobody wants to put up with shit that couldve been done more conveniently
>>59922171
>>59922640
yes so you can pretend to be intelligent on it by jerking off with strangers right
Either way as always your shit-hippie opinions are irrelevant, the thing that runs the internet is the private sector and nobody gives a shit what you think. Fuck off back to IRC.
>>59922972
>yes so you can pretend to be intelligent on it by jerking off with strangers right
you are either on lsd, projecting or thinks you are trolling
>your shit-hippie
lol says the web """"designer"""", go back to your women studies classes or stop being a hypocrite and go to tumblr
>the thing that runs the internet is the private sector
the private sector is dumb then, the money is with the bankers, not with the average joe
>Fuck off back to IRC.
chatrooms are psych wards, you do it
>>59921937
Why? Access to the internet raises the world's average intelligence. Of course if you were intelligent you would have already realized that.
>>59923385
>Why? Access to the internet raises the world's average intelligence.
If that's true why is Facebook and other social media so popular?
>>59923247
>the private sector is dumb then, the money is with the bankers, not with the average joe
trying to persuade 1 Banker who is financially smart and likely only buys high value good or services from known people instead of stranger advertisers on the web
vs
400,000 people that are dumb enough to get in debt on their credit cards to buy the latest trendy shit that gets advertised on their face
Oh wow you're definitely right, that why companies like Google and Amazon which are web-based are doing so bad on this times right?
>>59923385
If only. It speeds up access to both information and misinfirmation, and take a fucking guess which one people gobble up the most.
>>59923385
intelligence is pointless if you aren't putting it to use, see gaymers.
>>59923481
its infinitely cheaper to transfer data about the currency of each person than carrying cash around, dumbass
companies could milk huge amounts of money from bankers, and those would still get advantages from it by reducing wastes on security, but nah, you choose to act like a contrarian retard instead.
fuck off back to your women studies class
>>59923491
without the internet, the larger media companies controls the information, even if they have different agendas most of the time they don't both with trying to fight each other
However with the internet, fake news can be debunked rather easily, people that want to know that really happened can search for what really happens
The internet has taken the monopoly of information away from larger media companies, which is one the of reasons Donald Trump won, his word had no power on TV, radio, newspapers, however through the internet he was able to freely spread his ideas and debunk the attacks made on him

This "the internet will save the world" punditry really needs to stop. We've been hearing it for decades now and I am still yet to see any evidence that it has been a net benefit for society. All the aspects that it would excel at and actually provide a positive are woefully underplayed in comparison to the web as a giant corporate ponzi scheme.
It would be an easy retort to this to say "well, just use it for academic pursuits" but that would be to miss the point that the 99% of internet users do not use the internet for this. As would the argument that I'm a hypocrite for saying this on 4chan, but really 4chan is similar to any community ran BBS system that would exist whether there was an internet or not.
No one can argue that the replacement of typewriters with word processors wasn't a good thing, nor that the digital spreadsheet wasn't also an improvement, and the easy transference of information from computer-to-computer is a net benefit when kept to a certain context. But the intrusion of technology into life to the point where it is almost a necessity (rather than a choice or an optional improvement) along with the sheer ongoing cost of all this makes one question when we will reach a point of diminishing returns in terms of cost and intrusion, and the benefit coming from it.

The internet isn't why Trump won. Trump won because he actually went to poor places on his campaign trail and told them he'll work to make them not poor anymore. To say "Trump got in because he was shitposting on twitter" is to totally ignore all the real-world work he was doing at the same time.
Also the internet isn't inherently the cause of democratization of information the same effect could be achieved through almost any networking, including the global Fidonet and Usenet.

What you say has logic if the bankers themselves where the average joe, easily exploitable
Bankers are smart, they know how to make profitable business and how to get money from information
hell they have several executives earning $300k+ a year under their belt looking for ways
to maximize profit and opportunities
If someone else if making money of them, they and their executives will realize this, and if it's profitable doesn't need a big investment to start, they will do it themselves
That being said, companies like you say do exist, a clear example is IBM
they don't sell consumer products, they only sell to industries, including many banks, and their products/services are so complex that bankers prefer to buy them from IBM than to do it themselves as it's cheaper
But a small business trying to profit from Bankers soon get replaced by their own custom-made solutions
That's why it's easier to start a business selling to the average joe than bankers/companies
>>59923791
>That's why it's easier to start a business selling to the average joe than bankers/companies
Didn't you just said the average joe is in debt, contrarian fuck? You are overestimating the expertise of the bankers, see 2008.
The problem with normies on the internet is that they all want to bring real life and all its bullshit into the virtual world.
The internet used to be a place for computer nerds to take a break from life and talk about nerdy shit like technology, comics, anime or vidya, without too much censorship or moderation.
Now, with the advent of SJWs who have their feefees hurt on every possible occasion, the things you can say or do on the internet are very limited compared to that earlier time, because the number of normies (consumers/customers) far outweighs the number of nerds for whom the internet was intended.
At least we still have those fond memories of the "wild west" period.
>>59923773
>he thinks anyone actually uses fidonet and usenet
>he thinks that the internet magically didn't have any sort of impact at all
What year do you live in
>>59924185
dont use twitter?
even on reddit, unsub from all the big subreddits, and you can say what you want, once in a blue moon ill notice I stumbled into the wrong sub when I get a gizzillion downvotes, but its rare
the money is made from people speaking what they really think, no one wants information censored
>>59924377
>using plebbit at all
You're part of the problem, my man.
>the money is made from people speaking what they really think, no one wants information censored
Money is made by telling the mindless normies only what they want to hear.
>>59924217
You missed the point. I was highlighting that it's not inherently the internet that is responsible for the spread of information, and that were it not to exist other technologies (arguably better since they were non-government and non-corporate) would have taken its place.
And regarding Trump, his Twitter posting did contribute, but to say it was entirely responsible isn't quite fair to the rest of the work put in. Father Coughlin didn;t have twitter but his message was still widely heard.
>>59924377
>the money is made from people speaking what they really think
The money is made by selling personal information to advertisers.
>>59924476
Autism the post
>>59923587
>The internet has taken the monopoly of information away from larger media companies
And put it into the hands of different giant media companies, Facebook and Google.
>>59921937
Cancerous shit, like social media and shit,is good if you think about it.More internet users means a shit load of business opportunities, and that means faster development of all related tech.
>>59921937
should be like the terminal
