At best your phone takes higher resolution photos. Under ideal lighting conditions that could turn out better than on a lower res DSLR. However, in normal lighting conditions, even a lower resolution DSLR should be able to take much higher quality photos than a higher resolution camera on a phone. If the DSLR has greater than or equal to the resolution of your phone, there is literally no excuse for not taking better photos unless you don't know how to use your DSLR.
