Holy shit, seems AMD actually has enough cash to buy stuff now!
Either they stole it from some bank, or Ryzen is making mad dosh.
Wireless displays might be pretty fucking sweet for just regular work not requiring high framerates.

what is a loan?

Something you don't give to anyone with no profit.
AYYYMAD IS FINISHED
AMD? More like GAYMD
Connecting my laptop to a TV would be pretty sweet without any cabling, especially at work.
The issue is latency if I'm doing anything but watching movies or anime

Underage b&

This. If they can get latency to acceptable levels it would be fantastic.
Seems like a Intel WiGi competitor.
If AMD is raking in money, this purchase might indicate that they're gonna start either making their own NICs or license someone else', I hope it's the former, Intel has no competition from Broadcomm or Marvell in the high end NIC market.

Competition is good. I'm a little disappointed in the Ryzen line but it's waaay better than the previous garbage they had. I'm sick of (((Intel))) getting away with murder.
>AMD buys 60ghz IP for ad-hoc device to device meshes
>Kills off any possibility of this tech being utilized by making it a special AMD-only tech
It's gunna be a waste of money for them, just like Intels "Wi-Di" was until Miracast came about

Chromecasting tabs has gotten substantially better from when I used to try to use it for Amazon instant video.
Still wish Amazon would just stop being dicks and allow their content to be natively streamed to the chromecast.

Has Intel done anything with wireless USB recently? I hate Bluetooth so much, but I really don't know why. Maybe because Bluetooth device management in windows is so horrible

Nope, seems to have been forgotten after Broadwell/Skylake
