Non programmer here. Why does: "http://boards.4chan.org/int/cum" load, but, "http://boards.4chan.org/int/cum/" with a "/" at the end fail?
>>59887676
files and folders tend to be different things.
"http://boards.4chan.org/int/cum <- looks for a "cum" in folder /int/
http://boards.4chan.org/int/cum/ <- Looks for index.html or equivalent in folder "cum" which is inside folder "int".

Pretty much this but the first one would fail too weren't it for the fact that the link is designed to be interpreted as a search query in the catalog.

OCISLY a CUTE.

Makes sense. I didn't really know what that "cum" was, but for sure I wasn't clicking some random shit called "cum" from another board to find out.
I have enough degeneracy on /g/, thank you.

The server is not configured to handle trailing slashs. It's usually simply a matter of setting a variable to true o false.
Sys admins like to forbidden or require them to keep consistency.
It's not looking for folders or files, it's not looking for shit. The web server doesn't even try to understand the urls, it simply passes them forward through the wsgi tot he server.

You are the cancer killing /int/, OP. Just want you to be aware.
