So it isn't just me. Cool.
I only ventured into Ubuntu and Fedora but both of them had wi-fi issues; it'd just randomly die on me after a while and I had to restart. Then I tried openSUSE (partially for those reasons, partially because I saw it mentioned frequently when discussing KDE) and lo and behold - no issues. Even Plasma is more stable on it, along with everything else working.
