I have been using Ubuntu MATE as well as Arch for a few years now. I liked apt-get and loved pacman but I just bought a refurbished T420 and want to go for something from the "rpm family" this time.
Should I go for Fedora, OpenSUSE or Cent OS?

OpenSUSE
It comes in two editions: Leap is regular release and Tumbleweed is rolling. Both are pretty stable because they have good auto-testing tools.
CentOS is for servers. Don't even bother using it on desktop.
Fedora is OK but nothing ground-breaking. OpenSUSE does everything a bit better IMHO

Yeah, a rolling release sounds great, also heard SUSE is about the best KDE experience one can get, heard the same thing about Fedora and Gnome.

Pretty much. I'm running Tumbleweed with KDE and it has been smooth sailing so far.
There are a few annoyances like inability to play restricted formats out of the box (add packman repo and switch the packages to that repo because zypper has repository lock) but it still is the best distro I've used.
