First of all, thank you for providing that service for free. I know managing a server can be a lot of work, much less managing a server where 95% of the content is just shitposting and circlejerking.
Secondly, I hope you get the problem fixed, but honestly you shouldn't give a fuck what anyone says. Don't rush, just get it done when and if you can. People are WAY too fucking impatient and the archive is not essential to their life. It's very useful, but not essential.

Ever considered ZFS for your server?
Drives do all sorts of random shit while you're not looking and ZFS is pretty aware of the fact and designed to carry on in spite of even permanent errors to volumes and not lock itself up, killing all active services.

One of their reverse proxy servers was raided. They decided to DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING.
And there is a DMCA process here. The archives are fine.
