Thoughts on Redox?
Could that be next big thing?

Into the trash it goes.

People who obsess over the tools for a project more than the technical merits of the work itself are like modern "art" faggots who preen and posture about making statues of gay Jesus out of the feces of HIV-positive African children.
Until Redox actually solves a problem that all/most existing systems have, it's just public wanking.

The last 3 links are over-the-top SJW bullshit, but the first one is a simple code of conduct.
Why do you want to verbally abuse people over the internet? Are you a sociopath, or mentally retarded?

Plan 9 failed, and has some cool concept that are really interesting even nowadays(private namespaces for example). Guess how many chances redox has?
When will this stupid themed naming trend fall out of fashion?

To get a fucking point across you fucking donut. I agree that software development should be done in respectful and civilized manner. But going all out with "code of conduct" and crying if someone calls you retarded is just stupid. You need to be able to take a criticism even if it seems hostile. Take Torvalds for example. He may be using rude words to tell people that they have done something stupid, but that doesn't meas that he "harasses" you. I don't remember hearing much about those issues 5 years ago. Everyone was just happy creating software, but then SJWs come and created non-existing problems. And as ESR said, we must reject them: http://esr.ibiblio.org/?p=6918
Some examples of Torvalds' rants (would probably get him in some serious trouble in Rust community):
>Christ, Mel. Your reasons in b22d127a39dd are weak as hell, and then you come up with THIS shit instead: ... Heck no. In fact, not a f*cking way in hell. Look yourself in the mirror, Mel. This patch is ugly, and guaranteed to result in subtle locking issues, and then you have the gall to quote the "uhh, that's a bit ugly due to some trivial duplication" thing in commit... compared to the diseased abortion you just posted...

This is the point. Normal people can behave. You don't need CoCs. This stuff only helps special snowflakes to implement medival witch trials for their bullying.

What exactly are they getting at with the name and the icon? I hate it when software projects just use unrelated science terms "because it sounds cool xDD"
>>59845472
The icon is the electron shell of a sodium atom, a redox reaction is when the oxidation states of atoms are changed, sodium readily oxidizes.
>>59845531
And? What does that have to do with an OS?
>>59845582
Rust is the product of a redox reaction between iron and oxygen, it's all just a variation on the theme of rust.
>>59845617
yeah but rust is oxidized iron, not sodium.
checkmate, redox faggots.
