Overallocated 128 cores to a single NUMA node & 16 core CPU on my passthrough VM to see what would happen.
Windows professional stops considering them cores after 64 and calls anything extra threads. It also cannot into higher SMT than two.
It was surprisingly responsive until the cores would dogpile disk reads/writes and induce stutter.
Shutting down and starting up carried a risk of crashing my entire system.
