I have now the opportunity to try a different player. I have always used foobar because it was lightweight, but it had a couple of issues.

What is the most recent, fresh meme in media players?

Inb4 VLC, Winamp, they're shit

why would you want to switch from foobar

what are your issues?
>>
Just use the stock player from Windows 10. They wouldn't pre-install it if it were not good, would they?
>>
>>59809016
Even though it's easy to customize in theory, it has a lot of problems with version compatibilities and it just ends up broken. It also has issues with window and track/row focus which affects the search function and the album art display.

I really like foobar, but was just wondering if there is a better alternative.

Just get winamp 5.666 it may be discontinued, this version is secure and just perfect (the only exploit can make your winamp crash with a special FLAC file so no worries aboyt security issues). Winamp is great, but if you absolutely want an up to date version, download AIMP
>>
don't you dare switch from foobar

foobar is the best. i use it since so many years and every time i tried some other player i concluded its bloated shit. really no reason to find another player, SimPlaylist + Quick Search Toolbar + Waveform seekbar is all I need.

MusicBee.

It's like Foobar with all of the features and customization but without the ugliness or autism.
>>
Don't try Clementine. I've been using it for a few months and it seems like it just uses more resources than necessary. I was using Foobar for a while and decided to branch out.

What I really want in a music player is to just be able to create easy playlists for each artist, with all their albums in release order. That's all I want. I just want to be able to, in the minimum possible clicks, start an album playing. I don't do mixes and very rarely listen to individual tracks.

>>59814897
I tried it again recently. It really hasn't changed much over the years so if you didn't like it then you won't like it now. After my free apple music subscription ran out I drifted away from even using it to transfer music and now just use CopyTrans to do that.
>>
>>59809002
If you think winamp is shit, you might as well use windows media player or even itunes.
>>
Nigga install cygwin and use ncmpcpp
>>
>>59809002
Clementine is really nice for a basic media player.

No-nonsense, and it does everything WMP does better
>>
>>59812967
Do you how i could put in musicbee to see the library as in my folder (like in F2k "by folder structure"). i have 2000 artists because meme compilations...
>>
I got used to iTunes to the point that I can only perhaps use Clementine and that's about it. MusicBee for some reason is pretty fucking terrible at managing my library. After 2 hours I couldn't figure out how to make it behave similarly (tell it where music is so it could transfer it to an organized folder structure and play it from there).

>>
>>59817461
There's stuff overlaying other stuff, stark contrast so some elements look like they're part of elements that they really aren't upon a closer look, mix of transparent elements and non-transparent makes no sense in how it's done, and overall it's just far too busy.

I use Foobar myself. I just don't utterly drown it in every single plugin available like you and so many others do.
>>
>>59817492
You've option to turn it on and off background blur transparency in whole player not to mention you can change between light and dark theme.

Not sure what that guy listens to but your screenshot has anime music, dad rock, and white trash rock, so you're not doing any better.

You also have albums as playlists for some godawful reason and then you have inconsistent naming schemes for them on top of that.
>>

Deadbeef with file manager plugin.
It's basically Great Value foobar2000.

I also have foobar installed in WINE but I can't be bothered to put in the effort to make it show up properly in my quicklaunch window, or to make global hotkeys work with it.

Clementine is good and its license is GPL. foobar was good back in the day, but it's always been closed source freeware. Pretty much every closed source freeware program on Windows turns into adware eventually. They usually try to push ads in the installer.

Just use Spotify. I've tried every player and pirating just isn't worth it anymore. Spotify has so much music and being able to sync playlists etc to the cloud is nice. It just works. Seriously. I am now a happier man because I don't have to manage music files anymore. (And I used to download terabytes from RuTracker.. also had what.CD but fuck that shit I'm not seeding you morons)
