Is there a distro that Just Werks™ like Ubuntu, and is as convenient and easy as Ubuntu, but has a better name?

Manjaro is not a better name

mint.

What's wrong OP, afraid you'd try and actually like it, so you gotta make a hate thread to reassure yourself that you're right?

Truth is that the Amazon argument is washed out bullshit with a simple "off" switch and Ubuntu in itself is a damn solid platform. Stick Cinnamon on it or something if you hate Unity that much.

I use Debian with MATE on my desktop and Debian with Openbox on my laptop. I keep a 32GB flash drive with Kolibri OS on it for programming for when I'm out so that I can get nearly 15 hours of battery life out of my laptop.

Security issues, stupid update policy (keeping security updates for "fear of breaking things" is beyond retarded) and overriding package names totally destroyed mint's credibility. Cinnamon is great tho, I just stick it on Ubuntu instead.

Why not just use mint at that point so you don't need to bother turning off Amazon's telemetry?

Besides, if you never run unity it never starts up anyway. And installing Cinnamon, while you can't even call it a hassle, is still more work than a simple button.

Non issue since early last year.

Why does everyone bring up the Amazon thing? That got axed right away when all of the Internet and RMS lost their shit over it.
