it doesnt make a lot of money cause they are focussing on expansion ... for example the european business is at a loss. They only made a profit cause of AWS.

almost no margins are amazons business model and they are int oeverything know. Bezos focuses on market share over profit.

Their first profitable quarter here in the US was just a year or so ago and it has not been consistent. Plus almost all of their profit comes from AWS which is still a young industry that has yet to undergo a price war (believe me Amazon, Google, and MS are colliding like mother fuckers on pricing).
