So i have another $100 to spend on my computer. I currently have 16GB of DDR4 should I get another 16GB just to future proof? I plan on keeping my computer 8-10 years if I can, while upgrading from my GTX 1080 TI in about the half-life of it. So will 32GB of RAM be relevant within that frame? Say in maybe 2-4 years?
Buy more RAM. Prices are going to soar. Blame smartphones.

Who the fuck actually does this?
It's better to spend less more often than a lot less often.

Idk well at least 6 years so I can graduate from school, so at least 6
I mean since 8 GB was plenty 3 years ago, now 16GB is plenty, mayhap 32GB will be plenty in another 3? What else can I drop 100 dollars or so my new com?

depends on what you do with your computer. I run into my ram limit when doing offline training of large neural networks and I'm at 16 gigs.
What kind of RAM speed are you looking for OP?
Pic related?

Just wondering if spending another 120 on more RAM is a waste(in my com life frame)

ever play starcraft? dont build a unit making structure unless you can use it. If you dont have the need, dont buy the ram now.
It wont hurt to wait and you can use the 100 for other things. Get yourself a nice pair of shoes for job interviews or something. That way in 3 years you can buy all the ram you need IF you need it
