Don't know what kind of shit framework it's using but JDownloader 2 is made using Java, and it doesn't use more than 250 MB on boot. So something is clearly wrong there.

There are a lot of frameworks out there. Try them all. What IDE are you using too? I know that Eclipse is written in Java so you might be mistaking something.

Java is slow and bloated. Even Poosoft C# is better.

Java isn't as slow as people say it is, and the JVM's garbage collector usually takes up about the same amount of memory as the objects in use. Keep in mind you're starting out with a bunch of shit that you're not actually using right now, so yea, you're still "wasting" memory, but if you want to get anywhere without reinventing the wheel, that's a sacrifice you'll have to make.

And if you've picked the right framework, you'll probably start to use those things you're not using now anyway.
