I need new laptop.
Something that can run smoothly with 3 IDEs and 2 VMs at once. Also games sometimes.
It'd be great if it could take ocassional spill or fall and still run like nothing happened.
I thought about a thinkpad, but shitty low energy CPUs and general lack of sensible GPU makes me doubt it's product for me.
Recommendations?
G-guys...?
>3 IDEs
>2 VMs
For literally what purpose

Well maybe I exaggerated a little, but I do find myself in situations where I need to have 2 projects open in IDE and 2 VMs running.

2nd hand 2014-2015 rMBP, workstation dell, alienware, razer blade or reasonably spec'ed chinkpad is about as fruitful as choices get. All with their pro's/cons.
Was also debating a new laptop recently, but decided to wait for Ryzen APU's (if Intel don't bribe the OEM's again) as being jewed out of $2000 for some mobile quad-core housefire didn't take my fancy and my laptop from 3 years ago with 4th gen i7 is pretty much about as capable as anything I'd get now.
Hope this wait(tm) is the right choice
Well, I guess I'll just carry my PC around...

Having two projects open is not the same as having multiple IDEs open.
Look at Dell Precision line, I have one and it's beefy as shit and really well built.

I thought i don't have to overpay for gamer designated shit to have decent hardware. Also they aren't very durable, are they

Im wondering if i7 7500U/7600U will be enough tho
>>59741805
Thanks, I'll look into that
>>59741860
>U
these are i7s with two cores

learn how to use docker/containers and use vi/emacs.

>Look at Dell Precision
why not Dell Inspiron? they have better GPUs for OPs needs
