So going an Nvidia GPU would mean better video playback quality for my anime compared to an AMD GPU? Time to sell my GPU

Or you could just use MadVR.
>>59726164
I am talking about MadVR you cuck
>>59726010
Disable DXVA then, you'll get the same quality as the CUVID one. DXVA sacrifices more quality for performance than CUVID does. Just use the software decoder if you don't like that. Modern CPUs are fast enough unless you have a 4K video or something encoded with weird expensive settings.

OP pic specifically says not MadVR. Also MadVR has nothing to do with this. MadVR is postprocessing to enhance appearance. This is about the MP4 decode step itself.

I am using LAV splitter, doesn't choosing the none option make LAV automatically choose DXVA2? There seems no change in CPU usage when switched between none and DXVA2
>>59726010
CUVID adds a sharpness filter to the resulting image, that's all.
>>59726010
>artificial sharpening is a good thing
>>59726468
Its good for old blurry anime tho
>>59726492
Just use a shader you double nigger.
>>59726502
Doesn't a custom pixel shader add in "artifical sharpening" though?
>>59726548
Yes, but see >>59726426 -- if this is the case, so does CUVID. If you like that look, use a shader that does the same. It'll be artificially sharpened but you seem to prefer that look to the raw video.
