What's the take on Mixed Reality? I'm not talking VR, but Hololens, Magic Leap, Apple, and everyone else about to wage war over the coming years. How fast do you guys think it will take hold on the general public? Will we see a transition like we did from 0 to 100 with smartphones?

Microsoft, Magic Leap, Google, Alibaba, and basically every tech company refers to it as Mixed Reality. Headmounted, spatially aware, inside out positionally tracked with surface reconstruction is MR. AR is old gen Pokegay Go mobile based stuff.

VR etc won't catch on until we can display hidpi-like screens within them AND they are the size of contact lenses.
These things are basically phone screens really close to your eyeballs. Go ahead, hold your phone up to your eyeballs and imagine generating a couple of screens and opening vim, it's not a replacement for desktop.
No one wants to wear giant glasses on their face in public.
