Need help figuring out a couple things for a potential computer

New GPU(graphics card) is gonna be the first thing, GT 610 is shit. If you can get a used GTX 660, 660 Ti, 750 Ti, 760, or 960 on eBay from a reputable for cheap, you could get a huge boost for $50-75(I don't know the current going rate). Get one with one or two big fans, not one little one. If not, spending $100-$150 on a new GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti is probably the way to go, both for cost effectiveness, warranty, and just overall power. More memory more better, and same for fans. Smaller fans will be louder because they have to spin hella fast to move the same amount of air. A GTX 1050/1050 Ti will be overkill, and probably way more powerful than you can fully utilize, but if you plan on upgrading your CPU on the next couple of years, it'll work great, you can just use the GPU in the new build.

This is all for if you want to stick with Nvidia. AMD is pretty much the king of budget, but I just don't know anything about their lineup, so hopefully another anon can swing by and suggest their models, and let you know if they'd be better than what I said.

This is pretty sound advice.
As for prices, most of it will be a gift coming from my oldest sister who kinda likes to spoil, but I'm not an abuser. So my price budget isn't that low, but I don't want it to be asking for too much straight up. Either way, this will be me compiling a parts list, having her get maybe 1 expensive item and me whatever else.

For GPU, RX 460 / GTX 1050
Check your PSU if it has a six pin you're probably safe. If it doesn't then check the wattage, it'll be on a label on the side, if it's under 300 then you'll need a new one. Make sure if it doesn't have a six pin that the GPU you buy also doesn't have one.
