http://www.strawpoll.me/12662679
Clearly sudo poweroff is the only non-normalfag way.
>>59709323
shutdown now, if your'e already in a terminal
click "shutdown" somewhere for every other situation
>>59709323
There's not reason to shut down GNU+Linux.
>>59709323
Embrace systemd and use systemctl poweroff. Its consistent with systemctl suspend and hybernate.
alt + printscr + o

>not alt + printscr + r, e, i, s, u, b
>very slowly, just to make sure, of course
just unplug it
>>59709323
>no suspend option
Why? When I permanently turn it off I press shutdown. No need for autism.
>>59709323
meh, i just press the shut down button.
>>59709323
shut it off for good with: su -c 'chmod -R 000 /'
>>59709444
>tfw ctrl+alt+backspace is disabled by default
>tfw magic sysrec is disabled by default
what happened to you, modern linux distributions?
>>59709557
seemed like a good source of pranks
>>59709461
the survey didn't ask about suspending
halt -f
AKA.
FUCK YOU COMPUTER
sudo poweroff
sudo reboot and then pull the cord before it can restart
i didnt know about poweroff, what is the difference between:
>poweroff
>shutdown -h now
>shutdown now
>systemctl poweroff
>shutdown now
Always like this. Want to prevent data loss.
let your DE shut things down and close everything properly... and then let it hand off to the rest of the system.
