Enjoying the shit out of my Moto g5. Had a 2014 Moto X that died on me last week, it clearly outperforms my former phone, while having better battery life, and ditching the retarded curved back.

I love the shit out of my Nexus 5 but it's getting old. Apps are opening slower (I think memory degradation) and the battery life is absolute shit, I'm on my third battery.

What's a worthy replacement? Emphasis on build quality, updates, ~5-5.5 inch screen.

I'd lean towards a Oneplus 3T but I'm with Optus (Australia) and I think I'll get average 4G coverage. Anything new coming out I should keep my eyes on?

Smartphone history: iPhone 3g, iPhone 5, iPhone 6. I currently use the iPhone 6.

What Android should I upgrade to? I need the phone to look nice, be super fast to open apps and have a good camera. Doesn't need to play games.

I can wait for a bit. I was thinking about the new Oneplus or the Nokia 7/8. I know next to nothing about Android but I do know I'm not buying another iPhone. I don't have the time and patience anymore to deal with this unstable jailbreak bullshit just to make the phone usable.

Ive been using a Redmi Note 4 after having brand name flagships for the past 10 years and I have to say for £140 I'm beyond impressed. Huge screen, decent camera (if you use Cynagen mod camera app) and 3 day battery life. Oh and to top it off I can control my TV, aircon at work, stereo and even my SLR because of the IR blaster.

It's related to the cold solder joints on the SoC (think red ring of death for the xbox 360).
