Just use OpenDNS. At least it's not Google, or sketchy like those openNIC servers where you literally put your trust into the hands of 1 random NEET setting up babby's first server.

It sounds retarded, but I used the same logic and settled on OpenDNS also. Probably not an ideal solution from a privacy standpoint, but you could do far worse.

I just setup a DNS that uses openDNS and then I send to myself & I share my dns with others, no logs and shit and everyone is masked under my dns
Just run your own cacheing Bind server. Really easy to set up
