Can someone explain me how do I get into Data analytics industry?
I have CS major.
Data Science, Big Data, Data Analytics, Data mining, Data Warehousing.
What are these?
Step 1: Google it.

>What are these?
Good way to make money.
Also throw some "machine learning", "predictive analytics" and "ai" in the mix.
t. a Data Scientist.

could you tell us what you do on a day to day basis at work?

I have a background in math, not CS.
Smaller tasks:
So it goes from "AB"-testing for the marketing people, to calculating KPI for the individual departments.
Bigger projects:
When it goes beyond the pure measurement to get predictive models.
For example creating recommender systems and stuff like that to get more people to buy stuff. Get people to actually interact with newsletters etc.
So basically the important thing is:
Most people dont know any math and have no idea what they are doing.
So my job is to tell people if what they are doing is right & working.
I have no idea about "Data Warehousing" and shit like that.
Im a math guy who knows some programming, but im not a engineer.
Now im learning more machine learning because thats where the real money.

There's no lecture vids not paywalled but you can figure it out from the extensive notes.

thanks, how did you get into that, seems esoteric

It's certainly not esoteric.
I don't know your background, but its a matter of fact that most/many companies still do without any evaluation of their actions. Marketing mostly does what they "feel" is the right thing.
Now its my job to get from all these sources, google, metadata from the database and stuff like that to set things straight.
I don't think there is any magic to it, but its a step that should have been done long ago.
Im not sure about these titles you listed. But sure, In many cases its more like detective work because everyone is collecting all kinds of data without knowing what to do with it.
