Hey /g/.

I am starting now at Linux stuff. And I would like to ask for help with two things (yes I previously tried google...many...months).

1) Is there any place I can learn how to use i3 and konky from the beggining?

2) Is there any script or way to have, on my desktop, in a cool way, a feed of the threads I am watching in imageboards ? It would be cool to have this central of feed and information right away in my desktop (because certains chans just get one or two replies for day).

Sorry about my niggah English. I am not a native speaker.

just use a standard desktop environment and use a browser to check your threads like a normal human bean

C'mon man, don't be so bitter.

im just telling you buddy do something else instead of morphing into the typical arch linux riced desktop hyper faggots making desktop threads every second because it will end that way chum

Well, I am not fan of this type of thread.

But the problem is, I have many many Imageboards and forums, and some of them are so slow that I end up forgetting to check them.

If I had this thing that check out every...10 minutes or so, I would get almost real time and can check it out without have to worry.

I just was amused by the possibility to make the things I need to remember to check get auto.

The i3 users guide is pretty
https://i3wm.org/docs/userguide.html

>and konky [sic]
There are tons of guides on this. And tons of prewritten configs, no way you googled this and didn't find an acceptable guide.

https://www.linux.com/learn/how-install-and-configure-conky
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/conky

Conky configs are easy to read understand and edit. You just need a text file containing a config anywhere and point conky to it
conky -C home/anon/.config/conky/conky.conf

>2) Is there any script or way to have, on my desktop, in a cool way, a feed of the threads I am watching in imageboards
Yeah. But it's kind of advanced. You could definitely fetch some info with conky and have it show on your desktop. Ask in /fglt/, maybe someone will fix one up.

Ask in /fglt/ and you'll get better help. If you were a little more specific someone could hold your hand. e.g. help you get conky, and example config, launch it, and tips on editing it.

I am sorry, I did google, but, I don't have a decent English, I am Brazilian, then, my guides are so...frustrating. But I did check.

Thanks for the help, I will make a similar post about it in /fglt/. Thank you for being polite, anon.

Holy shit man, that's exactly what I was wondering!

Man, this is so beatiful and well organized. I don't like too much light so i prefer dark themes like this, don't hurt my eyes, I will check it out.

Man...thanks.

Have you tried RSS?

Yes but I would like something in my desktop.

No because it's cool, but because I would like to see it appearing in a "box" that I could control or visualize.
