Well, notice that Intel is trying to claim their new tech will be generations ahead of Samsung and TSMC.

Have any of you girls ever tried a mobile phone or tablet powered by Intel?

I have a 7" Intel powered tablet that I never ever use. It is, seriously, the worst tablet I've ever owned. A two year older cheaper tablet powered by a MediaTek chipset is much snappier.

Intel paid manufactures to put their garbage chips in phones and tablets and even at zero cost for the SOC they sold close to nothing because ARM chips are absolutely superior to anything Intel has to offer.

I can't wait for RISC V and ARM chips to become powerful enough to replace desktop CPUs so we get some real competition (specially from RISC V). At that point both Intel and AMD will be on suicide watch.
>>
And if it doesn't end up being as expected, the faggots from Intel will just pay companies to gimp and shit on AMD, again.
>>
>>59669229
>amd on suicide watch
That is mobile technology you dumbfuck
>>
>both are 10nm
>intel is a generation ahead

Huh?

Isn't each reduction in nm a new generation?
Which means that samsungs and intels 10nm are in the same generation?

What are they on about.
>>
>Intel claims

Lol
Where's Cannonlake? 2019 now? Another Broadwell for desktop?

Where's that 10nm anyway? Samsung has been shipping theirs for a while? Why is Intel releasing another 14nm part again?
>>
>>59669786
S-soon, just you wait until 14nm Coffeelake and 14nm Cannonlake, 10nm Icelake will be amazing!
>>

>>
>>59669804
Lol, by the time Icelake comes out Zen will be in its third iteration on IBM's 7nm fucking SOI, while Intel is still fucking around with either Skylake refreshes or Skylake dieshrinks.
>>
>>59669229
doesn't really mean much when the technology will only be used for a dying architecture that is full of erratas and also has massive costs and low yields.

One company's process is not like the other. The number usually refers to the smallest polygon you're able to create on silicon, not necessarily transistor density, conductivity and other physical characteristics. Intel is still ahead in that term.
>>
>>59669786
The distance between gates in intel's 14nm is smaller than in samsung's 10nm\
Cannonlake got delayed because developing a new process is a bitch

intel isn't scared of amd or ryzen. new msrp list released 2 days ago and not a single cent shaved off MSRP.

ryzen5 is going to flop so hard if it relies on 3600mhz DIMMs just like ryzen7.
>>

Always the same promises, if it has a 5% IPC increase it will already be "great".
>>
>>59670436

It's a dieshrink of Skylake.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a flying -fuck- about announcements and/or day 1 benchmarks and just waits until a few weeks until the real user benchmarks of production units come in?

I get that it is exiting to hear about new products but speculating about performance of a non-existing product (engineering samples don't count, you cannot buy them) or even arguing about them is full retard territory.

Intel was always more than a generation ahead of everyone else in terms of area scaling and feature size.
For some reason though, that never netted them a huge advantage at all.
Maybe these figures are only valid for their densest scaling library and not for those they use in their x86 desktop and laptop chips.

Ryzen scales a lot more with RAM frequency due to infinity fabric clocking at exactly 50% of DRAM frequency.
So, increased RAM frequency means higher inter CCX bandwidth and lower inter CCX latency.

Remember when Intel scrapped plan to open their Arizona plant and mothballed the construction for 4 years because they decided other fabs were so far behind, they don't need to spend money to bring 10nm online quickly?

Remember when Intel rested on its laurels so long, Samsung blew past them and TSMC is nipping on their heel after decades of being far, far behind Intel?

Remember when Intel panicked started investing heavily in 10nm after a late start, but they couldn't catch up, so now they're making the bizarre claim that their 10nm process is _A FULL GENERATION_ ahead of others' 10nm processes because a couple features are slightly smaller than Samsung's?

Are people really that deaf, dumb, and blind? Those corporations are a cancer on a humanity that values its freedom and anonymity.
>>
>>59675008
nu-/g/ would argue against liberty and freedom at every possible turn, or will only defend it as some sort of utopian concept, like world peace or full employment.

They literally wont care about botnets because "nothing to hide xD". They will buy apple products because "haha im not poor". They will buy and use whatever they need to feel like they are superior to someone else somewhere on the internet.
AMD vs Intel is soccer-tier rivalry for nerds. They dont care about you and yet you shill their products like you're on the board.

They need AMD to stay healthy.

Once AMD started to fuck up, companies grudgingly used Intel and paid premiums. At the same time, the companies funded ARM server projects and invested into the RISCV ISA as potential replacements for Intel processors in servers.

So of course, Intel would rather AMD look like a viable option, in hopes that many companies back away from ARM servers.

Educate yourself, my friend. You have fallen for the false dichotomy. "If you hate fascism, you are a commie" is just as invalid as "If you hate communism, you are a fascist". Both remarks are as illiterate as suggesting that fascism is "right wing". My friend, both fascism and communism imply a massive, centralized, authoritarian government. As such, both ideologies are in opposition to freedom, liberty, and privacy. I loathe communism as much as I do fascism. My loyalties lie with the people, and anything that threatens to the freedom, liberty, and privacy of the people are my adversaries.

Lofty discussion only has a place in circles of wishful thinking, it always has, and it always will. For if not me to rule over you, you would be lording over me. That's the only true nature of humanity.

The rich are not rich at the expense of the poor. Poor are not poor to the benefit of the rich. Is is not easy to become wealthy. Those who are wealthy have earned it through years of hard work, informed decisions, discipline and sacrifice. A deficiency in those things will have a detrimental effect.

You assume the pie never grows. New wealth is constantly generated. In addition, there is an enormous amount of wealth sloshing around that it is almost impossible to have difficulty capturing some of it.

Not everyone is going to be wealthy, but not everyone is going to be poor. I prefer to judge a society on the success and quality of life of its middle class. The middle class of the US is extremely successful and have unlimited resources available to them in order to live a life of comfort. Nothing is given away for free, and no one is entitled to live comfortably off the fruits of someone else's labor. But there is no society with a greater chance to succeed than the middle class of the US. That potential is the reason why the US is the country that everyone on the planet endeavors to reach, and that is why we must protect this shining city on the hill from all attempts at usurpation by the massive globalist tech giants and their authoritarian agenda.
