I usually just clip the edges slightly then tear it off.

Warming it up with a lighter is a really good way to get around it. Nail cutters are great too. Sometimes if possible, I turn the cable against a scissors blade, it'll tear the plastic just enough to make a cut.

If the insulation is made for that type of wire stripping it shouldn't much of a problem.

The Wire in OP doesn't seem that small. Seems like 22 or 24 gauge. I don't see why you're having a problem?

The insulation is so thin it'll scrape right off. You've got a bigger chance of fucking it up with the lighter

I just roll it very lightly on a razor then pull it off.
