Red pill me on I/O schedulers for Android.
What is master race ?
Deadline?
row if you have it. Android does a lot more reading than writing, which is what row is optimized for.
based on that graph, how the fuck is row good?

I'm assuming he means not leave 50000 apps open in the background.
So go into your recents and click "close all" every now and then.

Isn't Android supposed to manage background tasks automatically? I think I read somewhere it actually hinders performance to be constantly closing your apps.

Android does a perfect job of managing background tasks on itself. Force closing background apps and then opening them again only makes your CPU work harder by having to starr every app again from scratch everytime you open it. This will also impact battery life as the CPU gets more to do. Dont listen to idiots who are still using that app killer "task manager" they downloaded on their HTC back in 2011 when that was necessary.
To answe OP's question, I never noticed major improvements by changing schedulers. The only thing that I really noticed is that deadline gives me smoother scrolling on my 6P.

Android is not a kernel.
You're referring to the IO scheduler in the Linux kernel, in which case bfq is the best.
