>Visual Studio Code collects usage data and sends it to Microsoft, although this telemetry reporting can be disabled.[19] The data is shared among Microsoft-controlled affiliates and subsidiaries and with law enforcement per the privacy statement.[20]
>"can" be "disabled"
Defend this.

>Defend this.
No, it's shit.

Not an argument. Why would you use an editor developed by a company that sees sharing data with law enforcement as a feature?

Java is most popular language. Does that mean it's best? No, it's shit for pajeets.

Corporate offices are driven by herd mentality so it's VS or Java. Both are shit.
I actually liked .NET when it first came out. Decent IDE, nice framework. Obviously for RAD corporate stuff, not for tight/fast commercial apps. But it was fine for its purpose.
But now it's bloated spyware shit.
I never liked Java. Java was always shit.

Why should I use an editor that's written in JavaScript and has telemetry enabled by default, when there are so many better options?
>>59661856
>So explain why it's so popular?
It isn't. It's the default choice in an industry of sheep. If you aren't proficient in what management sees as "strategic" you won't be employed.
As if management would know what tools sre the best.
Remember "Nobody got sacked for buying IBM"? Defensible decisions, that's what management is all about.

Does VS enterprise have this same trigger?
