Stop installing microsoft products 'on the metal'. The only way to prevent this. You can leave a virtual instance of windows running all night and it still works ok the next day. I did this once and expected to have to restart it to use. It ran fine. Pretty funny.

Open resource monitor and look at what data is being read you fucking nigger.
If you're sure nothing is read/writting on your HDD, it's probably just S.M.A.R.T. testing your disk to update lifespan parameters
