Is a 120gb SSD worth the money? Realistically all I need to

It will shorten boot times and load times, and it does make opening anything a fair bit faster. But as inexpensive as they are, yeah, go for it.

And unless you're getting an NVME drive the speed isn't worth it.

Get at least a 250GB and preferably a 500GB nvme drive. If your computer doesn't have an m2 slot for it, then just get a regular cheapo hdd and consider a real upgrade when you have the money.

Also what is nvme/m2, a SSD that uses a PCI slot instead of sata?

Get an SSD M.2 if your motherboard supports it, it's half the size of a ram brick. Nugh said, right? 250GB is enough for an OS.

Just pay extra attention to where you download and install stuff.
Both my desktops and laptop have a 128gb SSD and HDD for storage.

I've been using 120GB SSDs as primary drives for years. It works for me because I never have more than a couple games installed at any given time, and they aren't the xboxhueg recent sort.

The speed difference is significant enough to have spoiled me. I find it frustrating to wait on computers with even fast HDDs now.

I bought a 120GB Evo for an older PC my parents had and it basically rescued that system and made it usable again.

The performance gain is just so good.

So if you can't afford more 120GB is fine. But imo don't buy some nameless crap, buy only Samsung or Intel, even if it's a bit pricier, they make really fast SSDs.

I'm not sure if my mobo supports M.2, is this new technology or do pci slots fit it? If anyone minds helping me I have a ASRock z77 extreme3. I'm only using two of the pci slots for gpu and a serial raid contrller

I'd like to say I know pc's well but I don't, building my own was like lego's once I figured out the correct hardware
