I HATE to admit it but even after ryzen's launch the 7700k

I had high hopes for ryzen even before mainstream started to hear about it, but I'm dissapointed :(

This is the exact reason I refuse to "upgrade" to Ryzen. If I can't achieve 5GHz or more with it, it's worthless to me.
