So I updated my S7 to nougat and it made the SD card corrupted basically.
>updated phone
>phone says sd card is corrupted
>spend a couple hours trying to find out what's wrong without formatting it
>get no where
>I give in and transfer the files to the computer
>put the sd card back in the phone and format it
>now I'm getting a notification that it's corrupt and needs to be formatted again
>stuck in this formatting corrupt loop on the phone
>now the computer is saying it's corrupt
Surprisingly, all the info is still on the sd card.
Trying to format on the computer gives an error saying that it can't format.
Running chkdsk makes it say "Corruption was found while examining the volume bitmap. An error occurred while recovering lost files."
Trying to format with Easeus did nothing. Trying to format with disk manager did nothing.
Format with the phone and it will say it completed, and then immediately say that it is corrupted, and since I can still see all the files, it's evident that it didn't format.
So yeah, any ideas?
Install Gentoo.

Put a linux distro on a USB/DVD and format with sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX
Where X is your SD card partition.
After that just reformat with windows or phone and see if it werks

try formatting with spare phone or gparted, other than that there's no way
You may need to write MBR again. Not just partitions, but partition table too.

you'd think he'd learn after seeing what a shitshow jellybean, kitkat and everything afterwards has been..
you'd think he'd learn after the countless times he updated and it did nothing but remove features or simply break the software

same happened to me, S4 on nougat

I know how to fix this in the most fuckwitted way possible....
Google Chromebook Recovery app, download and install it on Chrome.
Insert your card in the reader and run the recovery app.
Instead of creating a recovery disk, select the cog icon in the top right hand corner and select "erase recovery media".
Once completed remove the stick, put it back into the PC to reformat it and put your back up data back on to the card.
You're welcome.
Now fuck off.
