What is the best anti-virus software out there and why is it Bitdefender?
>>59594757
No it is not
thats not how you spell common sense
>>59594757
more like bitchdefender since anyone dumb enough to need antivirus is a bitch
>>59594805
That's not how you spell Gentoo.

>Muh common sense argument
What if I wanted to use a thumb drive? What if I used my own thumb drive in a school computer? How will common sense tell me if my thumb drive got infected or not?

All have been shown to be compromised in the Vault leaks. Even open source ones like ClamAV. Not to mention most are proprietary, and by installing them you agree to have your data collected and worst (at least in Avast when I read their privacy policy, but undoubtedly all are the same).

Pick one.

They are not for me, it is for some normies who don't know shit about technology. I haven't used an anti-virus in 2+ years.

Sticking infected flash drives into your computer is a quick way to get a virus, antivirus or not.
In any case, autorun usually doesn't cause instant infection like it used to, you'd just have to use Common Senseā¢ on files on the flash drive.

If you're operating under the assumption that firmware-level attacks are possible, then antivirus is pointless.

Comodo
It just werks
Been using Common Sense for 15 years and not a single malware infection. Feels good.
What's a gud antivirus/antimalware software that doesn't fucking take hours to get a scan through and doesn't stress the CPU?
I found panda AV pretty good.

Keeps the CIA out, is annoying as fuck in return.

Eset
Nod32 if you just want a good barebones antivirus
Smart Security if you want more bells and whistles.
