I still run across floppies that have files in need of recovering. Also, some old systems only have floppies for currently available storage. Narrow SCSI is not easy to find, but floppies are easy enough to find.

Some old scientific equipment that still works fine outputs data onto floppy disks. Oscilloscopes and stuff.
Some looms still use floppy disks to store intricate patterns on their fabrics digitally.
Hell they even keep punch cards as backups in case of floppy disk failure

A company I worked for had its big CNC machine running on 3.1 and dual config floppy disks because it had on hard drive so it loaded the programming from the floppy's to ram. They were looking into getting a floppy sd emulator working but it was only in the idea phase

if you got a decent one they're great for /g/ memes archivial, 20 a disk maybe.
...unless you get your hands on a concurrent format with the same reliability, which means more than 200MB a disk for storing every shitty /g/ meme
they're great for archivial

The spooks also use floppies to transfer tasking instructions between their airgapped systems. The floppies only move one direction. From internal systems to external. Learn from this.
