live cd means any cd you can boot from

yes it's linux no it's not complicated. you just boot from the cd and use the file manager to move the files, same as on windows

Incase you don't want to reinstall Windows and you have a blank CD laying around:

1. go here http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ , download, make a bootable CD with the included tool.

2. boot from Mini XP, open the tools shortcut (and im going from memory here) open Programs, hover over Passwords/Keys, select NTP Password.

3. You might have to point it to your SAM file (the file in Windows that holds all your passswords), sometimes it just works, YMMV.

Finally, pick the user account, enter the password you want, and reboot. EZPZ

From the pic it looks like your graphics card went out, I've had it happen on 2 laptops, and in one of them it managed to happen on Intel Integrated. It gets a bunch of orange fuzz all across the screen basically and can't really be used anymore.

Best option is what everyone else is saying. Install Ubuntu and take all the important files onto to a hard drive. Then reinstall Windows.
