>The lead developer (Ruben Rodriguez) of Trisquel is one of the accused FSF employees in their recent discriminatory firing of a trans person from the FSF...
Is trisquel ourdistro?
There's no evidence available that it was actually discriminatory. Leah Rowe admits she handled the situation poorly, by outing the former FSF employee as transgender, but I also think she shouldn't have publicly named the people responsible for the firing. It's not likely we'll get any more information, which is understandable, but without it we have to assume there was no discrimination.
Anyway, Trisquel is not updated very often. The most recent version is based on Ubuntu 14.04. If you want a modern fully free distro go with Parabola, which keeps up to date with new package versions from Arch. Or just use Debian with only the main archive section.

wtf i love trisquel now.

This is why you never fall for the ((((((diversity)))))) meme when you employ people, hopefully RMS understands this now
>>59578522
you mean (((((((RMS))))))
Dear I say GNU is our OS?
wtf I love free software now!
>>59578045
Yes. It was always our distro and it always will be. Parabola is a close second.

I disagree. For one thing, it sounds like the FSF didn't know the employee was trans until this happened.
But also, the FSF hasn't really lost any reputation for this. Libreboot isn't a very well known project, and most people who heard the story probably got enough information to realize that there wasn't necessarily any discrimination.
I guess it depends what you mean by the diversity meme. Maybe the lesson is
>Disregard irrelevant characteristics like age, race, and gender identity, and hire people who you think will be good at the job. If the employment relationship isn't working out, then end it.
Seems like that's working fine.

ok

Well now we know the complaint is either false or without merit. The Trisquel guy is the nicest person on Earth.

This is why you don't give them an inch. Not even an inch.
