No, LTSB2016 was released just to be in line with Server 201. Next LTSB will be in 2018 afaik. Yes, you can upgrade from one LTSB to another, either with iso (tested by me) or upgrade package (idk where to even get that package). That being said, LTSB 2015 is supported as is until 2025 and 2016 until 2026.

Both will do, but I found 2015 to be less buggy, less leftovers and more consistent. It does have a weird logon screen bug though. But 2016 has some audio issues, clipping if you pause for like 30 seconds a program that's using DirectSound 32 bit float audio. On resume it'll clip if you use volume normalization or Eq. TO fic you have to stop playback on all programs that migh play something at that time.

I had LTSB 2015 installed... until I upgraded my GPU and Nvidia drivers wouldn't even install on it with the latest drivers.

With windows 10, you download LTSB 2016 iso verify the hash, install it, and 1 button activate with Microsoft Toolkit. Then you customize it how you want it.
With a *nix distro you download the iso verify the hash, install it, add your respositories for updates, and customize it how you want it.
