As a total windows 7 normie, I just run malwarebytes' scanner and adware scanner every other day and ccleaner every day. I haven't really had any hiccups but I'm sure someone is taking my info and using it. But how the fuck do you honestly stop that nowadays without migrating fully into Linux

They're not needing unless your pirating things imo. Just use common sense 360 it's the best antivirus and some people might not agree with this but use MBAM to scan for malware, it's helped me out a couple of times.

If you're installing something fishy do it in a VM and see the after effects but that's an insane precaution DESU.

I've used MSE on my computer for years and never have a problem unless I download a file I know will trip it (like Daz's loader)
