Maybe Vimeo, but hardly anyone will see your videos. Vimeo is nice because they allow higher quality videos and you don't need add-ons to download videos from their site. No ads. The only downside is you have to pay a monthly fee if you want to upload a lot of videos.

Vid.me seems alright.

youtube is a pretty amazing story. its hard to believe now how everyone laughed at google when they bought youtube like 20 years ago. they laughed because youtube was beseiged with copyright lawsuits and viewed as a huge liability. many thought it would be an anchor that would drag google down with it. instead, google used it to build an empire.
