It has nothing to do with Trump. This is all the doing of the Republicans in the Senate, most of whom hate Trump. The President is just a figurehead for the most part. It's Paul Ryan and friends who are going to fuck you from behind while you're too busy ranting about Trump to notice.

You are probably not wrong on that regard.

Thing is that no matter who you support people should understand that after the election you still have to whip the guy that won or else he will lose his way.

Politicians are like sheep, they are not intelligent enough to make proper decisions by themselves, it's just a matter of who steers them.

Support the person that represents you best, but never stop being critical. And if you stay silent afterwards, other people will control your representative for you if you just nod at everything from them on.

Wouldn't you agree that in order to win the presidency and triumph over a smart lady like Hillary, Trump would have to be reasonably intelligent? Yes, it will make it more public. And instead of being able to do anything about it, we will be forced to act like criminals to retain our privacy. I assume because this is happening, we will see popularity of meshnets, self hosted services, and more ad-hoc style networks arise. Should not be hard to fuck the signal to noise ratio either.
O have worked for marketing departments and let me tell you, if you think this wasn't already going on, your naivety is over 9000.

But when I warned you all, you laughed.

Now, because you haven't listened, you, the people that had the power to change it, will be easy to denounce and control.

I wasn't even advocating for him, crazy. I'm just pointing out the fact that he's probably not as dumb as you're saying, and therefore you should change strategies. "He's dumb and his skin is orange" didn't work pre-election, it's not about to magically change people's minds about Trump now.

>>59555385
I'm actually not a huge Trump supporter. The reason I voted for him is because Hillary would just be a continuation of Barack, who was just a continuation of Bush. I didn't like Bush, so I felt pretty safe in my assumption that I wouldn't like Hillary. Trump may very well turn out to be a terrible president, and if so, that sucks. "May very well" is still preferrable to "assuredly."

Point 33. in the FCC document it plainly suggests that encryption blocks much of what ISPs can see albeit still says mkre private information can be inferred. The claim that ISPs will be able to see "browser history, financial data and even the content of emails" is ridiculously wrong.

Obama spent basically his whole term picking up the mess Bush II left behind while Bush's party fought him every step of the way. He tried to end the war in Iraq from nearly the beginning and he significantly cut back the number of people detained in Guantanamo. He signed climate change agreements with other countries and he appointed two justices who contributed to several notable cases. The dems only had like 2 years to really get anything done because the republicans regained their majority in the house and immediately applied the brakes and refused to take their foot off for any reason. Even still Obama's 2 terms were stable. The economy was on the brink of collapse when he took over and his policies pulled back it back from the edge at least for now. Stability isn't too thrilling but when you elect a giant moron like Trump then you'll begin to realize what you lost.

At times the argument the FCC makes is that this legislation should be imposed on ISPs over other service providers, particularly third party internet services and trackers like Google and Facebook, because users can take action to protect themselves against these systems.

That very same argument can be used with ISPs, that users can take action with encryption and VPNs to protect their own private information.

You people have no ability to be humble as you claim these are black/white issues. Should ISPs be forced to not do something with information they receive from users? Why not Google or Facebook since they impact many more people and have more private information?

>>59555630
The proposed legislation and denial have zero impact on the vast majority of businesses that manage information collecting and selling your information.

None. You can not sue Microsoft, Google, Apple, Facebook. At no point was this ever going to be impacted in any way by this rule.

They both shouldn't be able to sell your private information.

>Obama couldn't get anything done because of Bush.
Would it be reasonable to assume that Trump won't get anything done because of Obama? I do like stability, and if lacking from my life, I shall sorely miss it. As for the economy, it already collapsed. Basically all but the healthiest corporations are kept alive by government subsidies. I'm glad the lights are still on, and maybe Hillary would have been to negotiate lower interest rates for loans to keep the artificial stimulation going, but it's unravelling like a ball of yarn as we speak. On a global level, instability has been stalking the western world from the shadows for some time. Whether it's ushered in by Trump or Clinton is immaterial.
>>
>>59555815
You're confusing rhetoric for arguments. You should stop and never come back.
>>
>>59555809
If selling data on your private infrastructure is theft then piracy is stealing.

And you don't understand how technology works. Users don't need to know how to encrypt their data. It's not a physical action they need to take, you utter moron. All decent websites that handle any kind of private data are encrypted. That's what HTTPS is...

And what intelligent people would be doing is planning on how to make VPNs better. This is a great opportunity to encourage the majority of people to use VPNs with proper privacy policies instead of psuedo-privacy people had before.

And I hope many people in this thread understand that this wasn't a legalisation of anything, it was the denial to regulate ISPs. If you think that just now, under big bad Trump and his fascist regime, ISPs are invading your privacy, you're probably a moron.
>>
>>59555865
Nobody in this thread has made valid arguments. Nobody has any understanding of law, they haven't read the FCC's proposal, they don't know why Congress disapproved of it and they think encryption is the windows bitlocker thing.
>>
>And I hope many people in this thread understand that this wasn't a legalisation of anything

You're full of shit, it clearly is.

Again you're turning the argument on its head.

The bill is the reason people will need to step up security on their private data.

It's like saying, oh wow all this crime that is happening is fantastic, now people have incentive to invest alot in proper home security.

It's literally ass fucking retarded.

It's putting the wagon in front of the horse.
>>
>>59555847
>Would it be reasonable to assume that Trump won't get anything done because of Obama?
Well Obama entered into his first term with a majority in both houses which allowed him to get some things done. Trump also entered into his first term with a majority in both houses although the margins aren't as wide as they were under Obama. The thing is Obama entered his term with the economy collapsing, it was the largest economic downturn since the great depression. His party had to address that and they also had to work on a healthcare bill. Those two things used up a lot of his first two years. Trump does not have to worry about either of those things. He did not inherit a recession and the healthcare system is doing decent at least. At the very least the healthcare can't be improved by anything the republicans pass because "Obamacare" is a republican idea in the first place. Obama and the dems picked the ACA because they wanted the republicans to cooperate with him on the bill.

>On a global level, instability has been stalking the western world from the shadows for some time. Whether it's ushered in by Trump or Clinton is immaterial.
People migrate when they cannot make a living in their old lands. Mass migration leads to existing lands becoming crowded and fighting over resources which are fixed. The biggest source of instability is pollution and climate change and Trump has no intention of fixing either of those things.
>>

HAH, he had more riots than any prior president, he single handedly gave everything they fought for in iraq to the enemy (including billions of dollars of stockpiled weapons, vehicles, and ammo)
he illegally attacked sovereign nations breaking both national and international laws. meanwhile merikah went from top tier doctors to those of the same level as canadas.

not even going to mention the illegal immigration, and mass surveillance issues that were allowed to flourish under his regime.

>The biggest source of instability is pollution and climate change

So it's not declining quality of life for large chunks of the population, not clashes between incompatible cultures, not the actual instability in the ME? The pollution certainly isn't good. There's not much I can say about that, it's pretty crazy that the fukushima cores are still melting into the earth. Climate change, though? The end result of the climate change meme is higher taxes and nothing accomplished. Do "scientists" even agree as to whether its geological or man-made?
No offense, but just to get an idea of who I'm talking to- how many genders would you say there are, and isn't it a travesty what China has done to Tibet?

>>
>>59556251
>So it's not declining quality of life for large chunks of the population, not clashes between incompatible cultures, not the actual instability in the ME?
Climate change and pollution will or already are contributing to all of that. Water dries up, plants and animals die off, the people left with nothing move. They move to the places where there's still food and water which is probably going to be countries that are well developed. Pollution affects the developed world mostly, it causes the remaining resources to become even more scarce.

shilly, but this explains it fairly well.

They're just moving power from the FCC that Obama implemented during the net neutrality false dilemma psyop to the FTC – which means content is not to be censored (which is the power of the FCC)

This is regarding the vote today in the senate to "allow" ISPs to sell net histories to 3rd parties. It's just repealing Obama's bullshit in order to shift power to a non censoring entity (FTC).

Let me tell you, as a Republican, the one thing I cannot stand about my party is how poorly they understand technology or the internet
>>

Because half of the fucking country is making non-issues like which bathroom a mentally deranged freak should use the hot topic, letting the government slip this shit past everyone's attention.

Yeah they do, legally too because you're not a US citizen, yet you're still balls deep in the US sphere.

Yup, I've given up. The one actual nonmeme OS that was supposedly safe from CIA zero day probably has some backdoor hidden somewhere from some google pajeet or facebook cuck. It's over /g/ just accept ((they)) won.

Why aren't you lynching the fuck out of your senate, burgerclaps? This is a direct and major attack on your freedom. A lack of privacy is a lack of freedom.
This is the exact reason you have your right to bear arms. To protect yourselves from a tyrannical government. Exercise your rights.
>>
>>59569360
>This is the exact reason you have your right to bear arms.
No, you don't understand.
Right to bear arms is there to take down tyrannical governments that want to provide universal healthcare, lower income inequality, separation of church and state, freedom of speech and freedom of congregation.

It's not for True American governments that, for a small cost of freedom, want to stop all the hippies and commies from polluting the country with their commie ideas.

1. Most people don't care. If you randomly polled Americans the vast majority will have never heard of this
2. Even if people did care, what could anyone even do about it? Millions can have protests, but in the end the senators will say "lol nope still gonna vote the way I was originally going to".
3. 2nd Amendment does nothing if we hypothetically became a military police state. They have tech even more advanced than pic related, made for the sole purpose of dispersing crowds in the early stages of uprisings.

She did litterally say she wants a no fly zone in Syria, where the Russians fly planes. It's not hard to guess that if she actually implemented that, it would lead to WW3 pretty quickly

Yeah, but we elected two monkeys before him that did nothing but destabilize the Middle East to the point where Iraq, Libya and Syria are non-states along with antagonizing our allies in the world (Obama with trying to tell the Brits how to vote in the Brexit and causing the Syrian refugee crisis through his endless warmongering and Bush with his endless warmongering as well)

>Nobody should fall for this privacy shell game. The FCC’s broadband privacy rules are currently the best protection consumers have for their personal information online.

>The rules also require that ISPs keep customer data secure and notify customers and law enforcement in the event of a major data breach.

Look, I'm not well-read on this subject, but don't you think the messaging in your post contradicts the messaging of the article you linked?

How is this good for the American public at all? It seems like we're just losing more and more rights and you're all for it...

>why are the scummiest most dumbest shitbags in positions of power?
Because idiots vote for the one who offers the simplest answers to the most complicated questions, not for the people who give boring, factual explanations.

For example,
>There is income inequality because the rich benefit from income inequality. We can't kick out the rich, but the restructuring in law x should make it harder to avoid taxes with that one loophole. Then we will introduce a tax on behavior y, which is commonly used by large companies to exploit laws, but not by small companies. Then we will cut spending to military by z%. This will give us a high probability of increasing annual balance by 5%.
Would get you snoozed out of the government.

But instead saying:
>You know who is behind this? (((Kikes)))! and illegal immigrants! I will gas the kikes and race war the immigrants!
Will get you votes from all the retards who want to see own perceived enemies fall, not own country rise.
>>
>>59569360
