If it doesn't have a 5ghz band then you better be hard-lining most of your connections and not relying on it for it as the main wireless access points (which is totally reasonable)
If you are looking for it to be a wireless access point then I would definitely look at AC dual bands with good antennas.

Do it anon. Works like a champ. You're not gonna get MAXX BANDWIDTHZ but it runs great.

sadly WRT54G/GL won't let you enjoy even the full g-standart 54mbit network throughput
free software is fun and all, adding additional storage like SD cards and USB ports to it is also fun, but you can't make an old device perform like a modern one.

>tfw running that same exact router with DD-WRT right now
feelsgoodman
but I hope you aren't planning on using the wireless on it or wanted anything above 100 Mbps

Don't get a v7. You want v4 or below.

Whats wrong with v7?

Comes with VxWorks, so the RAM and flash is halved.

You are moderately high my friendo

Randomly isn't even the same arch as the other versions. You'll prolly be SOL.
its old and slow get anything else that support dd-wrt that is under 5 years old.
Just buy a MikroTik.

it does not have hardware to route more than 30mbit without loss
I use mine only as a switch and wifi AP
