What's stopping you from buying the best graphic card ever made?
>>
i only play starcraft2 so i dont need it.

my 290x still keeps me warm.
>>
>>59537905

The best graphics card is the Titan X and my demands are stopping me.

My secondhand GTX 760 is plenty for my casual gaming needs.
>>
I have a gaming laptop
>>
>>59537905
Already have GTX1080 will wait until GTX1280 Ti releases and I'll upgrade.
>>
>>59538065
Next generation will be the GTX 2000. And it's going to take a while.
>>
>>59537905

Can someone please tell me what the fuck 'Strix' is? Is it just an ASUS thing?
>>
>>59538175
Strix is a model of components that are clean and sharp. It's just a name.
>>
>>59538040
No, the 1080 Ti is more powerful than the new titan and has better overclocking
>>
>>59538353
And it's not more than 1000$
>>
>>59537905
Common sense.
>>
>>59538175
its some owl from greek/roman mythology
>>
>>59538341

Is there a better performance from Strix models?
>>
I'm happy with my 1070
>>
>>59538353
>No, the 1080 Ti is more powerful than the new titan

No it isn't, dumbass. They have the same amount of CUDA cores and the Titan has 1GB more VRAM. The 1080 Ti is just clocked higher out of the box to trick dumb gaymers like you into thinking it's better. They both overclock to the exact same level.
>>
>>59538384
Well, it's their best range of models and they always make an OC version of the graphic card.
>>
>>59538400
>the Titan has 1GB more VRAM

And a wider memory bus. The 1080 Ti is gimped ala the 970.
>>
>>59538403

A'ight, thanks man. I returned a 1060 Strix for just my regular Gigabyte 1060 and haven't noticed a difference in performance.
>>
>buy 1080Ti now
>one year later the 2080 destroys all of Pascal
>>
>>59538400
>Costs 400 eurs leds
>More fps in all benchmarks
>Custom models with more overclock and a better cooling
The titan is shit
>>
why do you even need a graphics card?

do people still play games?
why?
>>
>>59538425
You will not notice much difference between the same model for different card manufacturers. You notice the quality of construction and reliability after some time. You can also notice the difference in the temperatures when you push for it.
>>
>>59537905
money
>>
I'm fine with gtx 760
I don't even gayme that often
>>
>>59538063

>military grade bb gun
>>
>>59538353

For some gayms, maybe.
>>
>>59537905

>>
>>59537905
I already own Asus gtx 1070 strix oc, and thats more than enough for me.

>>
>>59537905
Because I'm a cuck who bought 1080

FROM ASUS with STRIX Branded.
>>

>>Taken from the ancient Roman and Greek word for owl, Strix means the keenest hearing and sharpest eyesight. Strix means feeling your environment so that you detect and react to the slightest movement. Strix means survival on the very edge of instinct. Strix is in your blood, as it is in ours.

Hmmm something doesn't add up
>>
>>59537905
I've had a 1080FE since launch. Don't need a 1080Ti just yet so I'll keep the money in my pocket.

i have asus 1080 in the mail, it will do.
I was waiting for Vega but fucking AMD i don't care anymore, too long.

I have a factory Oc 1070 already.
Can't justify a 1080ti
Especially at 1440p60hz.
>>
>>59539522
This is the company that thought taking the ass off from pegasus would be a good name.
>>
>>59539385
Asus is the best card maker in the market. The hell you on about?
>>
>>59539995
not him but my assnus died recently and the warranty was void due to changing thermal paste
>>
>>59540027
That's because you fucked up.
>>
>>59540044
what did he mean by this
>>
>>59537905
It's an nvidia timebomb
>>
>>59537905
>What's stopping you from buying the best graphic card ever made?
It's not available yet you dum dum

Also >buying assus

I will get a 1080Ti but an Evga like any sane human being
>>
a 750 dollar price tag
also I just aio cool my 1070 and get as much power as I need
If I absolutely need 1440p at 144hz I will just lower settings
>>
>>59540053

Well, that idiot he replied to damaged the product by adding snake oil.
>>
I'd love to get the Strix 1080ti but I'm waiting for Vega because

>muh Freesync
>>
>>59540027
>void your warranty because you're retarded and fell for memes
>somehow ASUS's fault
>>
>>59540533
>https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-O11G-GAMING/

memesync only works up to 75Hz, then you'll be in Vsync or have to deal with tearing. Gsync is the way to go.
>>
>>59540543
so for instance getting a waterblock (and not overclocking) instantly voids the warranty?
sounds like absolutely cuckery for you to accept this
>>
>>59540773
I'm not the retarded that fell for the watercooling meme and can't read.
>>
I'm between the new Samsung s8 and a 1080ti. Considering I have a 980 and I'll use the phone dial the choice is clear.

>implies that i have watercooling
nigga get some reading comprehension before you start talking
>>
>>59537905
Well OP, all memeing aside I'm waiting to see how the Vega GPUs are gonna perform. They're gonna be out soon and if all is well I'll make a purchase around the holidays to get a good deal. I'd rather see benchmarks first before making a decision.
Because the Canadian dollar is down our prices for these cards are insane considering we make the same as you guys. I think the end of the year will be the best time to buy.
>>
>>59537905
Already have 1080 SLi and it does more than a ti on average. For me the only upgrade would be 2x but too much money.
>>
>>59540773

You really expect a company to compensate you for bolting on other parts replacing a critical function of their product?

>sounds like absolutely cuckery for you to accept this

You never have to accept this of you don't go full neanderthal on a product that was fine to begin with.
>>
>>59541046

>SLI

: ^ )
>>
>>59537905
Will this bottleneck my 4770k?
>>
>>59541160

*sigh*

That completely dependents on the workload.

Furmark: No (duh)
Prime95: Yes (duh)
Gayms: Maybe
>>
>>59537905
I don't gaem that much anymore so I don't find the expense justifiable
>>
>>59540773
if it modifies the product physically in any way.. yes.. they are entitled to tell you to fuck off, same if you tamper with the software to overclock it outside what their tests have found to be safe. YES you can do it.. but yes they can also deny to grant your warranty
>>
>>59541046

Sell those 1080s and buy a 1080 ti instead.

Less hassle, money in the bank.

GTX 1070 owner here. Not really giving it a ton of use every day, so anything more would feel redundant af
>>
>>59540543
Any GPU vendor worth a damn won't void a warranty over thermal paste, if anything, a non-retard will replace the wood filler they call thermal paste immediately after opening their new card, although I predict a lot of people out $600+ cards in the HBM-filled future, because it's easy to crush an interposer if you aren't aware that it isn't as hard as the die when wiping
>>
>>59537905

GDDR, not HBM

GPUs are in a transition to new and better graphical memory so this will be really out dated by next March
