I just prefer to have the files.
Spotify does have a very good selection of music from my home country, though - being a small country, pirating can be a bit hard since not everything gets uploaded. So it can be tempting.

But eh, 10 euros saved a month, I can buy 8-15 CD:s or digital releases a year w/ that, or a bunch of vinyl if I want cooler items. That should cover every truly good or rare release of a given year. And yes, I do actually buy music, and I also go to local shows at least monthly, so I'm doing my job supporting the music.
>>
>>59528244

I used to pirate but then you need to go download every album or whatever. Now just look up the artist, album, number or whatever and add it.

I would say no but it kind of is since it's 5 shekels monthly if you're a student. Literally the price of like a sandwich
>>
>>59528142
I do, the best is that you can use the browser version and adblocker catches the ads.
>>
The bad:
- It keeps recommending me the same songs that I've "disliked" a few times
- The selection of music in the genres I listen to (low-fi techno, deep house) seems fairly limited or I'm just a pleb, idk

The good:
- Sharing a family account with 5 other people, it's cheap
- Sound quality is good
- Client is reasonably ok and not that laggy
>>
I'd rather use online radio streams and not some "catered to you" bullshit. If I wanted to hear a specific song I'd just download it or request it on a stream.
>>
>>59528921
>pff if I wanted to hear a song I'd much rather go through some garbage mp3 sites for the download or listen to songs that are similar to it but not really on a radio stream rather than just listening to it on spotify

Because I'm using picrel (with downloader). Streams are 320kbps mp3 for free, can fetch albums in an instant for offline listening.

Just like spotify, the official client is garbage, but at least they don't actively cockblock alternative clients from their api.
>>

>>

>>
>>59528632

No, you're not a pleb. While I love Spotify, the radio is crap. It really does have a terrible habit of constantly replaying music you've 'disiked'.
>>
>>59529139
Damn. Could be your provider possibly. Some list your usage as higher than it is. I don't have this but my friends have T-Mobile and them as well some other providers don't count music streaming as part of your usage so that's pretty awesome. But try turning off high quality when you're on data it might help
>>
>>59528374

I understand that if you're really into music it's probably not the best choice.

But I'm a pleb and I have 1 or maybe 2 songs per artist in my spotify because I just like to listen to songs that sound good and mostly only 1 or 2 songs in an album are good the rest is pretty boring
>>

Apple Music has 2x more song and gets albums months ahead of Spotify. Also, iTunes is a muhc better player. Spotify player's a javascript piece of shit that's so bad it even destroys disks.

Presumably you're macfag where iTunes work fine. Believe it or not, on windows, iTunes is so bad it triumphs even spotify. High CPU usage, lagged UI and random crashes. I have no idea what apple did there, presumably try to coax winfags to buy apple pcs?

2) type in: "<name of the artist> <album> itunes plus m4a"
or "<name of the artist> <album> rar"
and look for links. many are direct links.

Yeah, it's just fucked up. Either you're a premium service OR your customers pay with their privacy, not both.

its free but it plays ads in between and it doesnt let you pick the songs you want and plays them in a set order like a radio .. on mobile at least

you can circumvent the ads at least

any idiot here who uses spotify should check if their password is floating around

>My 13 character password that was unique to that account, consists of letters, numbers, symbols and uppercase letters. I did a simple google search for the MD5 hash of that password and found a German website absolutely loaded with MD5 hashes and their decrypted values. I could see my password plain as day in the list in plain text format.

>The possibility of someone guessing my password is very slim. I only use it at home, on my phone, TV, PS4 and on my Echo.

I can only assume Spotify has been compromised again and someone has dumped the database hashes online and they've been decrypted.

What are some torrenting sites that don't require registration and are just as reliable?
Also, don't you need Internet to stream? I'm in tunnels all the time, I need offline capability
>>

If you pay for it you can download the songs for offline playback.

The files are encrypted and bound to your account, so I don't think its possible to hack that shit. If you want offline playback you need to pay some shekels

I bit the bullet and donated the one-time $10 for IPT. Still cheaper then cable, and I can get everything in 1080p. It is a normie tracker though in terms of content, so your not going to find your special anime or music artist on there. I am a normie though, so I don't care.

Because I don't listen to garbage spliced together by shills out of recordings of 20 year old women having orgasms. Haven't you heard? It's called "pop" because they forgot the extra "o." Audio quality ain't shit without music quality.

Fuck all industry artists. The only good musicians are hobbyists, game development teams, and people who lived hundreds of years ago, and you can only find their shit on YouTube and pirate it with the command line tool "youtube-dl."

You have all of that and more packed into one single application. you can download eveything for offline use. if you come home you can open spotify.exe and resume playing the exact same song on your computer or your chromecast or your television. Nothing for LiLA'c Records nor STEINS;GATE 8bit - Henikuukan no Octet, so that tells, me it only has the most generic stuff. It's shit, then.

I only pirate if I don't want to support a company or if they purposefully make their content extremely difficult to legitimately obtain. I've molded my morals to fit my wallet and it feels pretty good.

Spotify makes content easy to access legitimately though, so if I just want to listen to a song, my previously beneficial moral code now demands I listen legitimately.
>>
I use it on my phone.
Doesn't cost to much, sound quality is fine, nearly all the music i listen to is on it and it has suggested me lots of music i wouldn't have found otherwise.
