A bomb
>>59526553
does it fry a mobo with incoming voltage?
>>59526558
at least the port, depends on how powerful it is.
could always find a dummy PC (library, school, etc.) to test it on desu
>>59526553
I see no voltage step-up circuitry
looks more like it's used as controllable 5V output
It has an infrared receiver and a 78L05 voltage regulator. You can probably use it to power an unpowered hub. I don't known why it would have a remote control.
maybe it's something like this? lets you send files to it via it's own wifi network
>>59526553
fuck you
>>59526540
The IR receiver is puzling
>>59526540
Fascinating. I'd guess it's a USB 'Power Switch".
You need to plug it into a machine and see what it is identified as. If you're worried it's malicious, you can probe the 8-pin chip to see if it's a EEPROM.
>>59527883
since it's USB and everything else is discrete electronics, won't that be like an ATTiny or PIC or something?
>>59526920
seems to be something like that
it's just a button, and IR receiver, and it's clearly meant to be placed in a power path
i'm not sure what you'd want to remotely turn on/off that plugs into usb via a non-usb connector
is there any text on the black cube at the end?
>>59526920
opamp is on the bottom, most likely usbkiller

>is there any text on the black cube at the end?
OP said it's a dc power jack
>usbkiller
it's not a usb killer, for one most of the components aren't relevant to a usb killer, and there's just nowhere for it to store power, it only has two tiny little caps
>>59527901
You're abosolutely right. The USB protocol has already been implimented in micros.
>>59528194
>OP said it's a dc power jack
ok in that case its a 5v outlet as you said
