I think it acually fixed the naming. No more iPad air, since every ipad is thin.

So now we have: Ipad, Ipad Mini and iPad Pro

Also, this new budget ipad is actually thicker than the iPad Air 2. It probably uses cheaper internals, that's the reason it's so cheap.

I think the A9 chip is faster than the A8X though, so it's probably an upgrade from the Air 2
