What does /g/ think of my retarded diy hard drive case?
Sorry for the sideways photo, my phone doesn't know up from left.

Hard drives can get up to 120-130F 50-55ishC. Sticking them in cardboard isn't smart.

>Thinking paper will burn at these temperatures
Kys you'reself.
>>59507786
I have such case for whole computer
>>59507971
fuck yourself weeb
>>59507816
It's either this, or a conductive aluminum hard drive case. Take your pick.
>>59507971
at least you made a hole for the fan, ventilation is key
>>59507910
I never said it would burn you troglodyte. Heat is bad for hard drives. External enclosures have fans to keep the drive cool. This will send it to an early grave.

Do you not think metal cages in PC cases are conductive?
>>59508086
>External enclosures have fans
No. They're just plastic boxes you retard.
>>59508112
All of the good ones do. I'm not sure which shitty enclosure you're using, but yours will die faster too.
>>59508140
Ah you're talking about the non portable ones. Yeah, you're right about that.
But they do not need fans. Most HDD will continue to work at extreme temperatures.

Again, extreme temperatures are very bad for hard disk drives. You shorten its life when it's not properly cooled. OP can check his HDD temps. If they're over 40C, tests have shown the failure rate will be higher.
does anyone still have the image where dude had a drawer full of HARDDISKAR
