So /g/uys whats the best HDD brand nowadays, back in 2010 it was clearly WD and Samsung with their F3, but it's been a while since i've bought a new hdd, i've seen some charts and it looks like WD is not the GOD tier brand now, and Toshiba has been winning some places, so whats the best brand for 1TB and 2TB hard drives now?

WD Blacks are still a VERY solid choice if you want a bigass HDD. Great pricing and quality. My 2TB WD Black's been going on tiptop since 2012.

The use case for HDDs is complete different from SSDs nowadays. HDDs are for long term frequently modified/infrequently used mass file storage. SSDs are for short term frequently used/infrequently modified file storage.
Log files and anime go to HDD / OS and gaymes go to SSD.
