I just noticed the display color on my laptop is not as vivid compared to my smart phone. My question is: is it the same for most desktop monitors?
who is that baby on the pic

no, it's possible that your phone uses miravision or bravia engine of some sort.
if your laptop monitor is samsung then it's got shitty washed out colors by default.

because manufacturers ofen jew out on the panel and put a glossy finishing to hide the fact they can't put a decent display.
Meanwhile, the company that made your smartphone is able to pack a small IPS display in your device.

for low-end (that is: cheap) monitors: YES.
for medium/high-end monitors: NO (especially with Dell and LG)

>manufacturers *often* jew
my mistake
Mostly just because laptop screens are ubiquitously shit. They were shit when they were picked out my the manufacturer, the average RGB coverage of any laptop IPS screen is about 70%, manufacturers don't care to put in a good screen because "muh resolution!", "muh nits!", and "muh IPS!" is enough marketing for the sheep that buy them
